Our Story
In 2021, the Lewisville City Council approached Serve Denton to perform a feasibility study to determine the practicality of creating a nonprofit center.
After all, a nonprofit center can only be successful if it’s supported by a tight-knit and determined community of people being change agents. And Lewisville has an abundance of people seeking to do good and come alongside people in need.
Our vision in executing the Serve Lewisville Center was to create a nonprofit center that enables Lewisville to double its capacity to meet the community’s critical needs in the next five years. Within that timeframe, we have taken on the task of targeting 5 main areas of need within the community:
Mental Health
Food
Rental and utility assistance
Healthcare
Affordable Childcare
The feasibility study was completed in May 2022, and in July, the Lewisville City Council agreed to provide a $2.5M forgivable loan to acquire property, renovate, and operate the vision of the Serve Lewisville Center.
Phase 1 (8,000 square feet) opened on July 3, 2023, with the capability to support 8-12 nonprofits with private offices, shared spaces, and/or essential resources to help fulfill their missions.
The mission of Serve Lewisville is to partner with the Lewisville community to help more people in need. We believe that finding help should be easy, and that nonprofits shouldn’t have to struggle to help their clients. Partnering agencies pay below market rate for space to collocate with a community of like-minded professionals to make social services more accessible for people in need.
But we’re not just managing facilities – we’re providing a framework of collaboration to help strengthen relationships between nonprofits, churches, and civic organizations to ultimately better serve the community members who call Lewisville home.
We believe that we can do more together than we can apart, and there is more work to be done.
Phase 2 will be an additional 19,000 square feet of space and resources coming in Summer 2026.
